Treasures to be Thankful for
A man was exploring caves by the seashore. In one of the caves he found a canvas bag with a bunch of hardened clay balls. It was like someone had rolled clay balls and left them out in the sun to bake.
They didn’t look like much, but they intrigued the man, so he took the bag out of the cave with him. As he strolled along the beach, he would throw the clay balls one at a time out into the ocean as far as he could.

Once upon a time a man had heard, that in a foreign place, far away, there was a holy flame burning. So, he got up and left his home to find the holy flame and bring some of its light back home to his house. He thought: ‘When I have this light, then I will have happiness and life and all the people I love will have it too.’

The Beauty of an Anonymous Gift

The Beauty of an Anonymous GiftThe Beauty of an Anonymous Gift

Jennifer  Merlich was the beneficiary of a radical, anonymous gift. The fact that it was anonymous helped her to internalize the impact of the gift and move into leading a more generous life style herself. “I was recently the recipient of an incredible act of anonymous kindness. It came from out of nowhere, at exactly the right time.  The magnitude of the gift moved me to tears, and I was so grateful and profoundly moved by the generosity
of my unknown benefactor.  But I was also sure there had been a mistake. In the midst of this beautiful act, I am ashamed to admit that I was momentarily overcome by feelings of unworthiness.  I simply couldn’t believe I was deserving of such radical kindness.  Had I been face to face with my benefactor, I would have given them 100 reasons why they “shouldn’t have”, attempting to convince them that they were wrong about me—that their generosity was misdirected.  Fortunately, I quickly realized that to focus on my feelings of unworthiness would be to dishonor the gift and the beautiful spirit in which it was so lovingly given.
“And I think that’s the beauty of an anonymous gift. It gave me the time and the space I needed to process the feelings it stirred up inside of me.  I was able to sit with the discomfort of unworthiness and ultimately see it for what it is— a lie—something I came to believe long ago, that no longer serves me.  Now, it is nothing more than a habit.  It is a “go-to” response that I can either choose to feed in the moment, or not.  This revelation was a gift within the gift.  As I was unable to speak to my anonymous benefactor and enumerate the ways in which I did not deserve the kindness they showed to me, the only way I could honor them was to suck it up in all its beautiful glory and put my faith in THEIR belief that I was, in fact, worthy.

Conquering The World; Short stories that Inspires

Conquering The World; Short stories that InspiresConquering the World; Short stories that Inspires is about an inspirational and motivation story to ponder on. These stories would teach us that human an achieve anything with the right kinds of mind read on

Everyone has a dream. Some people dream of becoming rich and famous, while others dream of making a difference in the world. But few people actually set out to achieve their dreams.

That’s why the story of one man who set out to conquer the world is so inspiring. This man’s name was Alexander the Great, and he was one of the greatest military leaders of all time.

Alexander was born in 356 BC in Macedonia, a country in northern Greece. When he was just 16 years old, he became the king of Macedonia. He then set out to conquer the world.

In just 12 years, he conquered most of the known world. He defeated the armies of Persia, Egypt, and India. He even crossed into Europe, where he defeated the armies of Greece and Italy.

In the end, Alexander’s empire extended from Greece all the way to India. He was just 32 years old when he died, but he had accomplished more in his short life than most people could ever hope to achieve in a lifetime.

Alexander’s story is an inspiration to us all. It shows us that anything is possible if we set our minds to it. So, dream big and never give up on your dreams.

There also once lived a powerful king who undertook an expedition to conquer foreign lands. His wise counselor asked him, “Great king, to what purpose do you set out on this endeavor?” “To become master of Asia”, the king replied. “And then what?” asked the counselor. “I shall invade Arabia”, said the king. “And after that?” “I shall conquer Europe and Africa; and finally, when the whole world is under me, I shall rest and live at ease.” To this the wise counselor retorted, “But what keeps you from resting and living at ease here and now, if that is all you want? You could settle down this very day without the trouble and risks.

Conquering The World; Short stories that Inspires is a story that would surely motivate us to keep our mind right.

Growing Good Corn: The Interconnectedness of life

Growing Good Corn: The Interconnectedness of lifeThe Interconnectedness of life a story generosity

There once was a farmer who grew award-winning corn. Each year he entered his corn in the state fair where it won a blue ribbon.

One year a newspaper reporter interviewed him and learned something interesting about how he grew it. The reporter discovered that the farmer shared his seed corn with his neighbors.
“How can you afford to share your best seed corn with your neighbors when they are entering corn in competition with yours each year?” the reporter asked.

“Why sir,” said the farmer, “didn’t you know that? replied the farmer. The wind picks up pollen from the ripening corn and swirls it from field to field. If my neighbors grow inferior corn, cross-pollination will steadily degrade the quality of my corn. If I am to grow good corn, I must help my neighbors grow good corn.”

He is very much aware of the connectedness of life. His corn cannot improve unless his neighbor’s corn also improves.

So it is with our lives. Those who choose to live in peace must help their neighbors to live in peace. Those who choose to live well must help others to live well, for the value of a life is measured by the lives it touches. And those who choose to be happy must help others to find happiness, for the welfare of each is bound up with the welfare of all.

The lesson for this post Growing Good Corn: The Interconnectedness of life is this if we are to grow good ‘corn’, we must help our neighbors grow good ‘corn’.

How to Change Your Mind and Your Life by Using Affirmations

“Whatever you can do How to Change Your Mind and Your Life by Using Affirmationsor dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. Begin it now.” ~ Goethe

An affirmation means positive self-talk. It’s a statement about ourselves or our situation, phrased in

the present tense as if the statement is already true. in this article Kate Britt, a Human Resources Manager wrote some methods to start creating very personal affirmations.

How to Change Your Mind and Your Life by Using Affirmations

  1. Identify your negative self-talk and beliefs.
  2. Create affirmations out of those beliefs.
  3. Begin using the new affirmations.
  4. See the “magic” gradually unfold.

1. Identify your negative self-talk and beliefs.

Do this in handwriting, not with a computer. Connecting your physical self with your neurons and psyche and intuition is important here. What our bodies do, our subconscious learns from.
Fold a piece of lined paper in half lengthwise, and then unfold it. Down the left side, write a list of those self-limiting statements you’ve been thinking and saying. “I can’t afford a vacation.” Or “It’s hard to lose weight.” Or “I’ll never meet the right guy/woman for me.”
Stick to one theme or personal issue on this first list. Write everything that comes to mind on the topic. Don’t think, just be spontaneous and real. It needs to be a stream-of-consciousness set of statements.
Then spend a few days listening closely to yourself, to what you’re saying, thinking. Ask a friend to listen, too. Add every negative self-talk statement to your list as it comes up.
After you think you’ve written them all, wait. More will come. As you empty out the top layer in your mind, the next layer will be revealed and released.

2. Create some affirmations out of those beliefs.

This next part is not easy, but you can do it!
You are going to write some new statements. You may feel huge resistance as you do it. Maybe you won’t believe a thing you write. Perhaps you’ll feel discouraged. You’ll probably think it’s weird. But humor me, just like my students did.
Down the right side of your paper, across from each left-side statement, write a new one that transforms that negative statement into a positive.
Examples:
  • “I can’t afford a vacation” becomes “I can afford to take a nice vacation.”
  • “It’s hard to lose weight” becomes “Losing weight is easy for me.”
  • “I can’t save any money” becomes “I’m good at saving money.”
  • “I’ll never meet the right guy/woman” could become “I’m open to new relationships” or “I’m ready to meet my perfect mate.”
The new statements must be in the present tense. Write “I am…” rather than “I will be…” or “I’m going to be…” Avoid using the word “try” because “I’m trying” is a self-perpetuating statement.
To get around your disbelief about writing something that feels untrue and seems impossible, you can write things like “I’m learning to….” and “I’m getting better at….” It’s still present tense, still a positive affirmation. Something like “I’m getting better at saving money” might feel better than “I’m good at saving money.”

3. Begin using the new affirmation statements.

Fold the paper in half again. Never again read the left side. Ignore it forever.
Post the folded paper, positive statements on top, somewhere you’ll see it often. Above the toilet paper roll. Over the kitchen sink. Read your affirmations from time to time, but there’s no need to dwell on your list. It is simply an occasional reminder that you’re transforming your thinking.
If you catch yourself thinking or saying any of your old (negative) beliefs, stop yourself. Transform it into the positive, right then and there.
Ask your family and friends to help by simply pointing out any negative self-descriptions when you say them. When they do, transform the negative to the positive immediately, and say the new statement aloud to them.
You’re literally changing your mind.

4. See the “magic” gradually unfold.

The “magic” will happen, if you do the first three tasks. Truly! I’ve done this ever since I learned how, and I promise you it absolutely works. I have a good and happy life and things generally go my way. I believe it’s because I do this kind of work ongoingly.
Soon you will not only say you’re good at handling money (or whatever your issue is), but you’ll also begin to believe it and—here’s the magic—one day you’ll notice that you are good at it!
The negative statements will gradually disappear from your mind.
If you stick with this, what’s absolutely true is that:
  • When you write it, the magic begins.
  • After you write it, you can start reading it.
  • When you start reading it, you’ll be able to start saying it.
  • When you start saying it, you start hearing it.
  • When you start hearing it, you start to believe it.
  • When you believe it, things begin to change.
  • When things begin to change, you will understand. And believe.

How to Change Your Mind and Your Life by Using Affirmations   should be a daily mental exercise for anyone who wants to come out of anxiety and depression.

Wooden Bowls

Wooden BowlsWooden Bowls: The Story of the ill-Treated Oldman

A frail old man lived with his son, his daughter-in-law, and his four-year-old grandson. His eyes were blurry, his hands trembled, and his step faltered. With his trebling hands his family made him to eat with wooden bowls

The family would eat together nightly at the dinner table. But the elderly grandfather’s shaky hands and failing sight made eating rather difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon, drooping to the floor. When he grasped his glass of milk, it often spilled clumsily at the tablecloth.

26 Ways To Improve Mouth, Throat And Jaw Health

26 Ways To Improve Mouth, Throat and Jaw Health

26 Ways To Improve Mouth, Throat And Jaw HealthLiana Werner-Gray  a sought-after speaker and advocate for natural healing using a healthy diet and lifestyle, outlined  26 Ways To Improve Mouth, Throat And Jaw Health.

HEALING TOOLS FOR THE JAW, MOUTH, AND THROAT

1.    ENJOY YOUR LIFE RIGHT NOW IN THIS MOMENT
We can still enjoy our life even when we have a problem such as a health issue. Even if we are in pain we can still enjoy our life. When we think “I can’t enjoy my life until this problem goes away”, we take the joy out of life and we don’t always know when the problem will go away. You have permission to enjoy your life right now.
2.    DRINK A GREEN DRINK EVERY DAY
No matter how you feel, force yourself to drink a green juice or green powder drink every single day. This commitment can cause major transformation because it is providing the body with so much nutrition at an instant cellular level. And we never feel guilty after drinking a green juice, it makes us feel better immediately and gives us peace of mind.
3.    CHAKRA HEALING
In terms of chakra healing, the jaw, mouth and throat are related to the communication area of our being. So issues here can indicate trapped and blocked energy. Wearing turquoise necklaces and thick soothing scarves are very comforting.  Look at pictures and photos of bright blue turquoise which helps with healing and strengthening throat chakra issues.
4.    RELEASE TRAPPED ENERGY
Trapped energy in the jaw can present suppressed anger, frustration, confusion and resentment towards ourselves or other people. Write out a list of everyone you feel like has sinned against you, or hurt you. Hand them over to God and show God that you feel these people really hurt you and you are so angry at them. Let God deal with it so it isn’t staying trapped in your throat and jaw.
5.    CAST YOUR CARES ON GOD
Cast your cares on God and release it from your jaw. We are not meant to suffer or stress, we have been designed to be able to be joyous in all moments of our life, so learning how to offload stress as soon as it comes can keep sickness out of our body. Write out everything you hate about yourself and your life right now with the intention to hand it over to God to take it out of your body. Release all the hate. Write down any thoughts you have about yourself that you know are not healthy. Cry, scream, yell, communicate it all to God, it’s a safe place for us to communicate and everything to be absorbed. God will handle it and take care of it for us and we will be guided when to take action or to communicate to a particular person.
6.    IMPLEMENT THIS AFFIRMATION
Repeat affirmations in the morning in the mirror “I love you (YOUR NAME), I really really love you.” Thanks to Louise Hay.
7.    REPLACE NEGATIVE THOUGHTS
Whenever you have a negative thought about yourself, think “Ok but I still love you (YOUR NAME).” We can still love ourselves even though our lives or situations may not be perfect.
8.    KNOW YOU ARE LOVED
Relax right now and rest in knowing this: You are loved unconditionally by God and the Universe. No matter what you have done or haven’t done, if you have hurt people or they have hurt you, you are still loved and you are forgiven. A new life and opportunity is available to you. We were designed to make mistakes, to learn and grow. Know and understand that there is peace right here, right now, and is available to us in EVERY-SINGLE-MOMENT. We can align ourselves with the peace, but don’t get frustrated if you don’t feel peace right now, know that you will feel peaceful and joyful again soon.
9.    GARGLE WITH SALT WATER
It kills bad bacteria and viruses in the mouth. It makes the mouth feel alkaline and healthy.
10.    BRUSH YOUR TEETH
Brush your teeth morning and night (use organic toothpaste of course – check out the Bentonite Clay toothpaste, it’s called Earthpaste). Bentonite clay will absorb heavy metals and parasites.
11.     MAKE A MOUTH PUTTY
Make a putty of bentonite clay and coconut oil and fill your mouth with it for 20 minutes and then dispose. This is very soothing and comforting for the mouth.
12.    GO OUT IN NATURE
Take a walk, get outside and enjoy the sunshine.
13.    LOVE
Get into a state of love, be around someone you love and do something you absolutely love.
14.     EAT SOMETHING EXCITING AND NOURISHING
Make some Cashew Ice Cream Bites with Chocolate Sauce! Gluten free, dairy free and guilt free. A plant-based recipe in my new book 10-Minute recipes that is high in antioxidants, soothing, uplifting and delicious when we crave ice cream.
15.     EAT SOME IMMUNE BOOSTING FOODS
Take oregano oil to kill viruses and bacteria. Cook with sage and oregano. Make a Vegetable soup that is immune boosting with cumin, turmeric, sage and oregano. Eat something raw like a vibrant piece of fruit or some crunchy vegetables. It’s amazing what living food can do for our healing immediately.
16.    SAY GOODBYE TO THE OLD YOU
Imagine closing the door right now on this chapter of your life. You have learned new things just from reading this piece, and you are releasing pain, inflammation, and suffering in your body. Open a new chapter.
Know you can move forward confidently and your new future is brighter, healthier and happier than you have ever experienced before.
God is helping you to end unhealthy cycles that may have caused suffering in your life whether it was an addiction to unhealthy food, people who may be constantly hurting you, or destructive thoughts about yourself.
17.    BE OPEN TO NEW THOUGHTS
Agree that it is unacceptable to think such hurtful negative thoughts towards yourself.
18.     GET CONTROL
Say out loud “I have control over my habits, they do not have control over me.” Even if it’s not true yet, it will become so.
19.     TAKE AN EPSOM SALTS BATH
Soak in the goodness.
20.     SOAK IN SALT WATER
Take a sea salt bath like Redmond Real Salt, or soak in the ocean
21.     USE THE SUNSHINE
Lie in the sunshine and absorb it through your third eye chakra and throat chakra. Imagine the sunshine is going into your cells and zapping out the inflammation like star dust leaving it glowing and strong. Stick your tongue out at the sun and absorb Vitamin D right onto the tongue.
22.     START THE DAY WITH OIL PULLING
Use coconut oil or sesame seed oil.
23.    PRAY
Pray or ask the Universe for help to relieve you from this situation. See it possible, and know it is possible.
24.    SLEEP
Sleeping in pitch black and completely disconnecting to recharge is another healing remedy in this situation.
25.     ASSESS YOUR TONGUE
Do you have a layer of white build up or bumps on the back of your tongue? This is a sign or oral candida or oral thrush. This is caused by excess bacteria build up. If this is the case:
Drink: Green tea, bentonite clay, activated charcoal (and swish in mouth), ginger tea, green juice (without an apple or sweetness).
Eat: Chew on raw ginger, raw garlic, onion (raw and cooked)
Cut out refined white sugar all together. Only eat natural sugars like dates, fruits, maple syrup, honey and coconut sugar when you absolutely have to have sugars.
26.    DO WHAT NEEDS TO GET DONE
Continue with your mission even though you don’t “feel” like it. Don’t let work or bills pile up which will just cause more stress to your life. Do what needs to get done and even if you think “I really hate my life right now because I have to do the dishes” do it anyway even though you hate it. Even if you feel like dying, sleeping forever, hiding, still make yourself a herbal tea or green drink. Do the things you know you will be proud of later. This will help you get through the “stuck” periods.

A CRACK POT

A CRACK POT A CRACK POT:  A story about turning our weakness into strength.

Once upon a time, an elderly woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck.

One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.

At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.

For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water.

Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments.

But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.

After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream.

‘I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house.

The old woman smiled, ‘Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot’s side?’

‘That’s because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them.’

For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table.

Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house.’

INSIGHTS

Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it’s the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives so very interesting and rewarding.

You’ve just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.

SO, to all of my cracked pot, dear friends, have a great time and remember to smell the flowers on your side of your crack paths. I love this – I hope you do too.

JUST PUSH

JUST PUSHJUST PUSH

A man was sleeping at night in his cabin when suddenly his room filled with light, and the Savior appeared. The Lord told the man he had work for him to do and showed him a large rock in front of his cabin. The Lord explained that the man was to push against the rock with all his might. This the man did,
day after day. For many years he toiled from sun up to sun down, his shoulders set squarely against the cold, massive surface of the unmoving rock, just pushing
with all his might.

Old Timers

Old Timers:

A couple Old Timersin their nineties are both having problems remembering things. They decide to go to the doctor for a checkup. The doctor tells them that they’re physically okay, but they might want to start writing things down to help them remember.
Later that night while watching TV, the old man gets up from his chair.
His wife asks, “Where are you going?”
“To the kitchen,” he replies.
“Will you get me a bowl of ice cream?”
“Sure.”
“Don’t you think you should write it down so you can remember it?” she asks.

“No, I can remember it.”

“Well, I’d like some strawberries on top, too. You’d better write it down, because you know you’ll forget it.”
He says, “I can remember that! You want a bowl of ice cream with strawberries.”
“I’d also like whipped cream. I’m certain you’ll forget that, so you’d better write it down!” she retorts.
Irritated, he says, “I don’t need to write it down, I can remember it! Leave me alone! Ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream — I got it, for goodness’ sake!” Then he grumbles into the kitchen.
After about 20 minutes the old man returns from the kitchen and hands his wife a plate of bacon and eggs.

She stares at the plate for a moment and says… “Where’s my toast?

The story of old timers is a story of love and fun between two old couples
